More tested patterns!!

I am currently in the process of testing a pattern for a pair of pants & a matching bonnet for Veronica's Crochet on facebook!!

But in the mean time - I have also tested a pattern for Treasures & Trinkets by Tiffany. I was able to test her pattern for this adorable Newborn Baby Chick Hat Which you can purchase for the very reasonable price of $1.99!

Patterns I've tested (4-19-13)

I was offered a chance to test a couple patterns for Veronica's Crochet!

The first pattern was for her Vintage Scalloped Bonnet. I tested it in size 0-3 Month! (Since I have a model that size!)

I did my version in ILTY Grape from Hobby Lobby and added a cute butterfly button to hold the strap!

35 by 35

I have a list of 35 things I want to do by the time I am 35!! This has been written down for quite a while!! I have 6 years 5 months to accomplish all that are not strike out!

VERY simple Afghan

Disclaimer; I, in no way, claim to have came up with this pattern. I was at a loss as to how to do this afghan, and just decided on this pattern. Below is how I did it...

Little Miss watch...

Friday I had to be at my OB at 10:30. Did all the normal routine.. Her heartrate was slightly elevated at 160-170. We figure it's because she was mad at having the hiccups. My Blood Pressure was good. 112/60. I gained 1 lb in a week (Still under my goal!!!)

My PRODUCTIVE Saturday!

Big Mister had to work yesterday & the Little Misters had spent Friday night at my parents house - so I was home all alone! Once I got the house straightened (because what better time to do it than when no one else is home, right?!) I brought out my hook & yarn!!

The first thing I finished was this Round Ripple afghan for a baby girl. Totally love how it turned out!! I think the white really makes it pop!

8" of snow!!

See what happens when I complain about not getting a good "WINTER" snow?! We get about 8" of snow just 11-12 days before I am due! Here is a small timeline of pictures I took! I should have done every hour - because I knew we were going to get a good snow.. I just didn't realize we would get 8" lol!!

My past 2 days & a hat!

Big Mister and I took Little Mister 2 to school Tuesday at noon, which is when the afternoon preschool class starts their classes & then went down to the local park, Mammoth Spring State Park, to walk because I was having some pretty good contractions, pretty close together. The trail around the park is 6/10 of a mile, and we walked it 4 times in about an hour & a half. Contractions picked up, so we made arrangements of who would pick the boys up from school, I called my mom to let her know we were heading to the hospital. We got there, they monitored me & I was in fact having contractions, about a 1.5-2 minutes apart. When we got there, I was dilated to 1.5-2 (I was at a 4 at my last appointment on the 15th of March - None of the nurses could figure out how I regressed.) Little Miss's heartrate was fluctuating in between 140-200 which really worried us. When we asked the main RN about it, she said it was normal for that much fluctuation. We got there around 2:00 and left around 5:30 - The contractions just weren't helping me dilate any. They told me to come home & walk. We did. We decided to go ahead & try to get a good night sleep then walk more the next morning to see if they were still constant & then if so, we would head back up there..

While this is a "crochet blog" I will occasionally post things about my life on here!! I don't really post on my other blog anymore, I get tired of having more than one so I figure why not!!

Headband!!

I made Little Miss a headband!! This will be something that I can do - use up stash (slowly because it doesn't use much yarn) and be proud of :)

Another pair done!

These were made for Little Mister #2's preschool teachers Great Niece (I think that's what she said!) As I said in my earlier post - The color combination was one that I didn't think would work great together but that's what they requested & I think it turned out well!!

Insomnia...means crochet!!

Some might know from chatting with me via the 'ville, but I am currently 27 days away from my due date with my first daughter, 3rd child!! For about the past 3 months, I have woke up no later than 7am (even if my kids don't) and the past week no later than 5:30. I just can NOT sleep!! One would think that Little Miss was already here, though she surely isn't! I don't turn on the TV until the Little Misters are up & awake.. Insomnia for me - I crochet! What better thing to do while I can't sleep? Oh sure, I suppose I could clean, but I try to do that after the Little Misters are in bed, so really the only thing to pick up in the mornings are things that the puppy, Jingles, has drug out over night to play with (when SHE should be sleeping!)

Lil Elf/Pixie hat

I am so pleased with how this hat turned out!! You can see the pattern here for the hat & the pattern here for the rose/flower!! I was just shown a picture of a hat similar to this & asked if I could make it. There is nothing I won't try!!

Friendship 'ghan update =]

My friendship 'ghan is still coming along nicely!! As of right now, I need only 3 more squares to complete another row!! A lot of people can't believe I am sewing it together as I'm going along, but I have my reasons for doing it!!

• If I didn't put the squares together as I got enough for a row, I would end up misplacing a square. 
• If I didn't put them together as I go, I'd forget in what order I wanted them!
• I don't have enough extra space to keep them laid out with out them being "sewn" together by rows!
• I do believe I am going to do a border of single crochet in black, outlined by a border of reverse single crochet (or crab stitch) in white! Still have to figure that out but I do have time! 

Cowgirl up!!

I was gifted THIS PATTERN via Ravelry & just HAD to make it!! 

I'm not 100% pleased with the hat - I didn't have 2 skeins of the type of yarn that it called for - so I used RHSS (Red Heart Super Saver) and it came out WAY too stiff! 

The boots came out a LOT better!! These - I am pleased with!! They are the first pair of booties or anything foot related that I have made and I like how they turned out!!

Swap goodies (For February '13)

As a member of the 'ville I participate in swaps with people around the world!! In February - I participated in 2!! The first was a Magic Ball yarn swap!! You buy goodies & wrap them up in a skein (or more) of yarn!! My partner was Nicole from Indiana and she sent some great stuff :) 

Progress...

Here's the progress on the Pink Camo & White Round Ripple. I worked on it a little yesterday during the day - but had a LOT of running around to do so I didn't get to work on it as much as I would have liked. Then I tried to go to sleep around 9 last night (after watching The Biggest Loser) and just could NOT fall asleep, so after tossing & turning for an hour - I got up & came back in here & worked on it for another 2 hours! I'm almost done with the 2nd round of pink camo. I plan to have it done by next Wednesday - that's the next time I will be in the town where this lady works - because I have my 34 week OB appointment :)

Make-Me Monday (02/11/13)

What neat & interesting things have YOU made today? This doesn't have to be something that's crocheted - but really, anything craft related!! It can be crocheted, knitted, sewn, quilted or anything else crafty!!

I haven't finished anything today - but I did start on another RR for a friend to give her daughter for her first baby girl who is due in May!!

Here's my progress so far...

It will be done in the pink camo - exact same pattern as the one I finished over the weekend, but it will be for a girl, so it'll be pink camo with white accents!!

I'm hoping to have it done with in a week! We'll see :)

Mirage & Spring Green RR Finished.

This is the Round Ripple afghan that I was working on for my nephew!! I was almost done with it on Friday - when she texted me to tell me that she was going to be induced Monday at 7PM so I figured I should probably finish it before then!! I was going to surprise her with it, and I won't give it to her until after she has the baby because I won't see her before then, but I went ahead & uploaded the picture on facebook & tagged her in it.

Another Sneak Peak!

On-going WIP

I am a member of a wonderful crochet community called Crochetville and I am participating in an on going Crochet a-long (CAL) collecting granny squares for a "friendship-ghan"! These squares have been sent to me by members of Crochetville all around the world! I have 2 more of the larger 12 inch squares that will also be incorporated in the afghan once I get more squares for more rows.

Afghan #1 complete.

I guess you could say I was a "bad daughter" and I didn't get my dad's afghan complete by Christmas.. BUT I finally finished it on January 24th. I had ran out of the yarn that he wanted it done in so I had to wait until I went to the walmart in the town that my doctors appointments are in to get more. Our walmart here in town is absolutely TINY (not even a super center) and they don't have the greatest yarn selection!
